The way you organize a site architecture, and its navigation is crucial for both SEO and your visitors. Search engines go through a link structure to find and index pages. If your site is structured well, all the pages and subpages will be easily found and indexed by search engine crawlers.

Probably Kilerb If people have something to contribute or can help us reach more people who would benefit, that's great but an open ended critique is of no benefit to anyone.

Hey Craig! I have an idea (This actually seems like the best thread to mention it strangely enough...) Why don't we move the forum board where it will get more views? Most people that Google "tubular aggregate myopathy" will never find these forums because they don't come up under a Google search. I'd imagine almost everyone here was referred by someone else. When people do google TAM they just see the standard info that we have all seen many times now and it makes me wonder how many people might be looking for something like this place but never find it. So, I was thinking we could migrate all this to a better domain name that would be found by new people. I make websites. I've made sites with forum boards before. Most of these forum boards can be migrated right over to keep all the info and existing posts intact and in place. I just bought the domain tubularaggregatemyopathy.com (which after awhile, I believe will pop up on the first page on Google when people search for it since the search name is right in the domain.) It could take a while, but it would eventually get there I think. More eyes can do nothing but good if you ask me. I have no interest in anything weird (like putting ads on it or monetizing it...) I just want more eyes. As a matter of fact, if you like this idea and wanted to do this all on your own, I'd transfer the domain to you right now for free and let you take the reins. But I'd be more than happy to help or do it and make you admin of the whole thing. Or I can start a completely fresh forum board over there and see how that goes as well. Let me know what you think.
In summary, my basic idea is that moving the forum board over to a domain that has the name of the condition right in that domain and will eventually have much better placement on search engines and that might get a lot more eyes on it, and in turn get a lot more participation. Let me know what you think! Thanks! Brian

Well it's not in use anymore. It was started around 10 years ago when I was running a different type of comedy show. Haven't used it in around 5 years. But it doesn't matter anyway. Proboards can't be migrated according to the brief research I did yesterday. We'd have to start fresh I believe. So, not sure what the best course of action is.

One thing they did mention when I was researching this was this....
Now you can add a custom domain to the forum and you can even change the forum's original URL to another ProBoards' URL, but if the forum does not have any content and/or meet the criteria search engines use for ranking, it still will not show up in search results.
We could use the domain I bought and you could change the name from "craiglane" to something more applicable if you wanted.

If someone types "tamopathy" for a google search I'm sure that comes up at the very top. But is that an actual term? That's why I was thinking using tubularaggregatemyopathy.com would be better. Anyway... We can't migrate the posts because proboards doesn't allow migration. Which I think is lame. But it is what it is.

You can always start one of your own and then we can share traffic by adding links to each site If that's something you want to do? If there is anything we can help with information wise to use on your site just ask. The more available points to the limited information available the better I would say. I'm sure our members would be happy to see more out there. Personal approach to these things always makes a difference and the more sites the more chance there is of someone finding the help they are looking for. I should have probably spend time updating the webpage and structuring the webpage forum interlink but as time goes on I find it harder to do stuff and "Dragon Speak" is great for dialogue but not really up to web design. Besides that where else am I going to get info about chainsaws and barbed wire. lol

Also, Craig... I started the website today. I actually made it a blog/forum site. So information can be put on the blog as I get it. The forum boards are up as well. I'm the only one registered as of now. Do you mind if I make a post about it on these forums? Wanted to check before I did anything like that. You can check it out at www.tubularaggregatemyopathy.com and click forums at the top. I'd love for you to join of course! Just using a basic theme right now. Might change the way it looks a bit, but the content won't change when I do that.. Let me know what you think! Thanks!
